KeVita was founded in 2009 in Ojai, California, by organic winemaker Bill Moses, and holistic nutritionist Chakra Earthsong. Her water kefir ferments were unlike anything Bill had ever tried. Their mutual respect for the art and science of creating probiotic drinks, showed in their approach to the business. Together, they perfected their flavors, while maintaining the integrity of the formulas. In their first year, word-of-mouth reputation turned into national distribution. They knew they were on to something big. While distribution has grown, they remain grounded in the fundamentals of their process, still fermenting and bottling right at home in Ventura County.
