Jazz saxophonist Anton Schwartz has been drawing listeners in with the power, spirit and subtle complexity of his music since he bounded onto the San Francisco jazz scene in 1995. At 27, Anton was answering the call of his long-standing passion for jazz, stepping away from the high-level research in Artificial Intelligence he'd carried out at Harvard and Stanford. Quite a career change. Once in action as a musician, Anton quickly gained an enthusiastic following as music fans responded to what the San Francisco Chronicle recently called his "warm, generous tone, impeccably developed solos and infectious performance energy."

"The results are in and the decision is final. If ever I'm looking for a lead shovel, or if anyone is for that matter, Shovelman is the first and only logical choice." -Klaus Flouride, The Dead Kennedys
"Now and then you think you've seen all the shoot you're going to see...then, out of the ether, comes Shovelman and when he's got the slide on those strings and he's singing those old time songs, he's bringing you back the days of LPs and a decade old needle on the living room floor..." - JJ Schultz, Host of SF Bay Guardian's best open mic

From the darker, more theatrical side of Fusion comes a collaboration of dancers with extensive belly dance backgrounds…and a love for the dance. Deshret Dance Company (DDC) is a professional belly dance company based in Oakland, California.
DDC applies pressure to the boundaries of Middle Eastern dance and attempts to bring a more theatrical and artistic side to this ancient, highly skilled, art form. Deshret keeps its roots grounded in the traditional technique and movements of Middle Eastern dance and then morphs them into something new and different.
