Market PlaceHot Dog and Beer. Taco and Beer. BBQ and Beer. Let’s face it, pretty much anything and beer. The best of Northern California’s hand-crafted beers under one tent, featuring a rotating series of IPAs, imperials and cask ales. $25 dollars gets you eight generous tastings and your very own souvenir glass. Curbside Cinema

Curbside CinemaA grassy lawn, blankets, the smell of fresh popcorn and the sound of lapping waves provide the perfect backdrop for Eat Real’s outdoor food film festival. This is a rare chance to see clips of films currently in production or ones making the film festival rounds! 8pm, Friday and Saturday. More info.

MusicNothing says festival quite like the sweet sound of music drifting over a crowd. Jazz, Latin Rhythms, R&B, Blues, Urban Cabaret and more will be coming from the stage by the grassy lawn Friday-Sunday. More info.

Ice Cream FridayEat Real gets off to a chilling start on Friday--in a good way! We'll be breaking the festival ice with an helado and gelato extravaganza, showcasing the Bay Area's premiere creameries and frozen dessert purveyors and scooping their specialties under the stars. More info.

 

Foraging and Canning Exchange

Foraging and Canning ExchangeHome processing and neighborhood gleaning and foraging take center stage at the From Scratch Kitchen Friday, August 28th at 6pm. Local experts show how easy it is to can and forage from the comfort of your own home (or neighborhood as the case may be.) And what kind of an exchange would it be if you couldn’t bring your own excess goodies for an old fashioned swap? More info.

Butchery Contest

Foraging and Canning ExchangeThe knives fly as three teams of local butchers go head-to-head on quarter steers from Marin Sun Farms to see who’s got the fastest and cleanest cuts this side of the Mississippi (ok, Sierra Nevadas.) Teams have just under a half hour to complete the cut list as defined by the panel of expert judges. The butchered meat will be packaged on site and sold through a Bay Area meat CSA. Emceed by Eat Real founder Anya Fernald, this promises to be one cutting edge night. 7pm, Saturday, main Eat Real stage. More info.
